Hindustan Times Clean up Drive with For Young India.


 

In collaboration with FYI creative Marketing the Water Environs team  organised the Rivers clean up component at Dahisar river for Hindustan Times’ Clean Mumbai Green Mumbai call on 24th Feb 2015. . On that day whole beaches and other water fronts were cleaned up the drive at Dahisar activated the River March team and provided them with gear to maintain the river edges. It also included an interactive citizen’s  installation “Wish for the River”.

RIverse Exhibition and Stakeholder Forum at Maharashtra Nature Park

An exhibition that aimed to generate awareness towards the social, environmental and spatial revival of the Rivers of Mumbai to create a Healthier Urban Future. The event was a workshop and exhibition that brought together  , involving local stakeholders and experts, on 29th Jan 2016 jointly hosted by River March, Water Environs, India habitat Forum (InHAF), MNPS, NEERI & Khalsa BMS students. In the two years it has managed to generate a robust public will for reviving the rivers. Since the past 2 years, core members of the group have been meeting various BMC, Forest officials, elected representatives, community leaders, NGO’s and have been conducting periodic activities and events related with public awareness, social mobilization, clean-up drives, tree plantations, street plays, marathons, river marches etc. in schools, societies, ward offices, public spaces. We have also been able to build a wide network and have actively partnered with other citizen led movements.

The Water Environs’ team’s Riverse Project was an activator point of technical cooperation and support to the Mumba River March group which has been activating public momentum towards the improvement of riverine systems and edges in the city.
